80s ARRSTON VOLAJU BY KOSHIN SATOH VARSITY JACKET
Heres an interesting one for you all:
Established in 1975 by Koshin Sato, Arrston Volaju revolutionized the 80s with its designs. The legendary jazz artist Miles Davis took a particular liking in his vision and often wore his pieces during his performances, Satoh eventually became his constipe designer . Arrston Volaju went on to make its fashion week debut in 1987 at the tunnel nightclub in paris which Andy Warhol was a part of and famously wrote about in his diary.
I have been collecting his pieces over the past few months and especially love the exaggerated shoulder pads and balloon silhouette in all his jackets, very reminiscent of Issey’s jackets from the same era. This one in particular features calfskin sleeves with a small pocket, a wool shell and a silky viscose lining, beautiful.
More to come.
